8 mm footage of University of California Berkeley, 1969. Redpanther and the Jesus Freaks. Chrisitian World Liberation Front. I shot this 40 years ago ! People's Park !
Hippies, Hell Angles, Hari Krishnas, Black Panthers, and Holy Hubert. Every day was a circus or a riot ! Telegraph had 3 different communist book stores. Regan ordered in the troops, helicopters gased the students. The " Blue Meanies " rolled in with long batons and smashed heads. The leaders of the " Anti War " movement threw paper bags of crap with rocks at cop heads. Then slipped out of the action for a beer at a bar on Tellegraph to watch the riots on TV. What more could a guy ask for !

I was just lamenting the other day to my two grown sons (21 and 20) that there are no videos of me when I was little as "no one back then" had video cameras. Well apparently Billy Squires did as he filmed this. I am the little blonde girl in the middle rubbing her soon-to-be-very-large chest. I have absolutely no rememberance of this nor what anyone told me to do regarding this film. I was 8, after all. I do remember, however, very much about the Berkeley days and CWLF.

Holy Hubert on the streets of Berkeley, (saw the poor guy get beat up & his teeth kicked in but he loved people!) and he preached the gospel! Rumored to be one of the Little Rascals...some truth to it.  CWLF, Dwight House, RIGHT ON! Magazines, Jack Sparks,(recently passed into eternity), Brooks Alexander, David Fetcho, SCP, Spiritual Counterfeits Project, Logos Bookstore on Telegraph and hosts of other characters raising the name of Jesus among all the other riffraff going down.
