Here I play a well-known French song called "Petite Tonkinoise" composed by Vincent Scotto. Originally it was sung by Polin and has been remade in 1930 by Joséphine Baker..

This is my first Youtube upload and I just realize that they reduce much the quality of the sound...

My mandolin is a "Mancuso" made in Catania, it is not a wonderful instrument but I love it.

  • sounds ok to me - you either love a bowlback or not. playing was excellent.

interesting song - the melody is well known but i'd never heard the lyrics - i assume "la petite" comes from vietnam.

look forward to hearing/seeing more of your videos.

  • Thank you for your nice comment. I will maybe upload some German or Austrian music in the coming days.

I learnt the mandolin using Madeleine Cottin's method dating from 1903.
