  • I seem to remember hearing and perhaps seeing this material before; no matter, it is still one of the most brutally elegant summations of reasoning.

    Peace.

  • Yes. This is a re-upload from last year. Somehow it disappeared from my channel.

  • I don't think he's saying we shouldn't use our intuition. I think he's saying we shouldn't rely on it. Scientists don't rely on their intuition, but they do have it and use it.

  • Dude, you are awesome. The speed and depth of you critical facaulties is much needed in this day of obscene religious conduct. You have gained yourself a new subscriber.

  • Intuition is pattern detection and just because our brain picks up a pattern doesn't mean there's necessarily anything to it. After all, we detect patterns in even in utterly random.

We must use logic to determine if there's causal link behind patterns. If we don't, but rather assume there's always a reason behind a pattern, we open ourselves to all kinds of superstition from raindancing to reading of tea leeves, to thinking a magic deity/deities intervene our lives.

  • Make more videos. It's been a while since you made anything.

  • Intuituion is based only on repetition. Similar situations often have similar outcomes this is the basis for faith. Data, information, logic and study are the basis of facts. We call it science.

  • intuition is empathic reasoning it is not a product of irrational thought it is a different facet of reason which has different levels namely logic, intuitive logic, and wisdom which is inate reason.

  • I've always had the feeling that there is an afterlife. I have always felt there is a god of some kind. I've had some very "religious" experiences. But I still don't believe in god, or an afterlife. I am still and atheist. I value evidence over "feelings" or Intuition for important questions too.

  • yeah, i agree with this : even if the presentation is a little lame : but i guess it has to a bit simple and condescending.. to be understood by all those god fearing americans :) lol.

  • Fuck you for making my hungry.

  • Just finished reading 'Blink' by Malcolm Gladwell. He might have something to say about your conclusion... Well worth a read!

  • Yes. Thank you.
