Hydro Thunder (PSX) - Part 1 of 5 - Easy Tracks

Here's the easy tracks of Hydro Thunder for the PSX (Thunder Park, Lost Island, Arctic Circle).

While having the worst graphics, this version has the best control of every console, allowing you to use dual analog. This makes it much closer to using the throttle from the arcade, instead of buttons.

Navigation system? Go!

Speed gauge? Go!

8-Track Cassette Player? No-go!

Radar Uplink? Uplink is go!

By the way, this is the only console port with the loading dialogue. Though the graphics are the worst of all ports, there's much more care put into this port.

What about ship shortcut on artic circle???

I find that it can sometimes take longer going through the tanker, so I stuck to the main path so I could keep an eye on the other boats. Beats being in first, getting out of the shortcut and then finding out you're suddenly in third, and you didn't see it happen! :P

the opening phrase is still stuck in my head after 10 yrs of not playing the game..

and im still wondering how to unlock those easy hard and bonus tracks and boats..

my friend and i never unlocked it..

Did it really have the worse graphics?

I remember in the n64 version the volcano smoke effect was missing but the ps1 had it. But the n64 version did look clearer and sharper.

I saw a copy for PSX, if it's still at that game shop, it's mine. I forgot how much I liked this game, the best boat racing game I ever played.
