A few of my friends were moving up to Washington state. We decided to visit Seattle. For everyone that has ever been to the FISH philosophy employee training course, they "don't do that there" apparantly... A pretty funny video of an angry fish-mongerer. Especially funny if you know about the FISH philosophy.
P.S. I am the one who isn't holding the camera, so don't blame me.

This is a dated movie, not representing reality at Pike Place. You see 'Bear' in action not even close to the way I have see him performing 3 times. And it's not in line with the short interview I had with Bear last year. The FISH! philosophy as in the movie FISH! is for real.
I think that some of the people that have written comments here desperatly needs to work on their attitude......for their own sake! Whats wrong with having fun, choose your attitude, stay focused on your customer (who ever they might be) and give good days to others? It's basic to me.... be careful with your life - you can't rewind and do it again!
As Kevin Carson points out, if your boss feeds you this FISH! bullshit, then tell him that you're going to start working less hard and for fewer hours, and that he needs to take a more positive attitude ("you can't control what I do, but you can control your attitude about it"). Then you'll see whose agenda FISH! is serving. (Hint: Not yours )
(BTW, the definitive smackdown of FISH! is on p. 275-278 of Carson's "Organization Theory"; there's an HTML version online too. Highly recommended.)
That guy NEEDS THE FISH PHILOSOPHY. I dont know about any of you but I want to have fun at work and as a store manager, I make sure my team is laughing and having fun in the end, we all win... the highest compliment Ive received as manager, was from one of my associates telling me that they love coming to work.
I agree - who cares about who is making money- the "fish! philosophy" is a concept, it's not about truth...... get over yourself, and your capitalist envy....
I think that the Fish Philosophy is a joke. This guy in the video is right on. Trying to mimic the morale of this fish market is a farce. If employers want to create morale, they should do it from the top down. Trying to get workers to buy into a system that they're not willing to exemplify is a crock.
Anyone who follows the Fish Philosophy is also a joke. I hate that crap and I hate my employers for force-feeding it to our staff without actually living it themselves.
