Scientific name of this beetle is Mouhoutia planipennis. It looks really like a stag beetle, but actually it is a kind of predator beetles found in Laos.
I know there is a smaller species looks almost same in Thailand, but I don't know it is same or a kind of subspecies.

  • Incredible! Where I live, ground beetles are nowhere near as big or colourful.

  • It's a Carabid. They prey on snails by forcing themselves into the shell.
