This was the best version of this theme, this one had a bit more of a meaty bass line too it.

Apparently though it wasn't re-recorded it was caused "by accident" when Peter Howell was adding it to the new sequence for the Sixth Doctor, IIRC.

@DarthJedi2005remixes I checked The Twin Dilemma. It uses this theme. AOTC was the first story of Colin Baker's first FULL season.

@dalekjoe8 Really? I'm going to have to double check that, because I'm fairly sure that the first story this was used in was "Attack of the Cybermen"

@ThrillerKiller129 Well that's funny because I have the DVD of "Attack of the Cybermen" - the story opening the season which contains "Mark of the Rani" - and it says "First broadcast 5th-12th January 1985". Incidentally, I also have "Mark of the Rani", which says "First broadcast 2nd-9th February 1985". So unless you have a TARDIS, I struggle to see how either of these could have been broadcast in 1984...

this video is wrong about the year! the theme started in 1984 cos i got the Video of "The Mark Of The Rani" (1984) and it has this theme

haha, it's in a lower tone than the Davison theme!!! i new there was somthing about Colin's howell theme that just wasn't right!
