  • @TheSpursrule4ever Liadov had married an heiress, so money was no longer a problem. Just as well he died three years before the Revolution.

  • Too easy to dismiss Liadov as attenuated Schumann/Chopin/something romantic.Very Russian and very impressive.

  • Diaghilev asked Liadov to write the music for The Firebird, but Liadov was a lazy man,so Stravinsky got the job instead, and of course, the fame. Too bad, because he was a very talented composer.
