Halloween Party Treats: Severed Fingers

How to make some creepy Halloween treats.
You can add food colour to the cookie dough to make green coloured fingers.

Use whatever sugar cookie recipe you would like, below is a good one:
Ingredients
1 cup butter,softened
1 cup icing sugar
1 egg
1 tsp almond extract
1 tsp vanilla
2-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup whole blanched almonds
1 tube (19 g) red decorator gel, (blood for fingers)
Preparation
In bowl, beat together butter, sugar, egg, almond extract and vanilla; beat in flour, baking powder and salt. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Place on lightly greased baking sheets; bake in 325°F (160°C) oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until pale golden. Let cool for 3 minutes.

I just made this using one box of Krusteaz Bakery Style Sugar Cookies mix, shaped it and everything but the dough melted into a flat foot shaped cookie with one toe nail....what happened?

@markelious I've never used that mix before so I can really say sorry.

@yoyomax12 The kids and I had a good time making these cookies and a really good laugh at the results. Great fun! We plan to do this again this weekend for our party on Monday, any suggestions on which brand mix to use?

@markelious Oh my, I can't remember what kind I used. We don't have much of a choice here, something tells me it was a betty crocker. Chilling the dough thoroughly before molding it may help and then another chill on the cookie sheet before baking.
