  • If you are close enough to trap then hit and move, the purpose of JKD was to hit and not be hit, control distance and timing. You lead the dance move in and out then brake his rythm. Chain punches leave you in close range for too long and give the other fighetr time to grab or hit you. Instead use broken rythm and non-commited punches to set up power shots. It works. Check out Boxers Rebellion and Team Ronin MMA,

  • @vannillargorilla All your points are valid-in relationship to boxing, sport combat and mma. This drill is to enhance bare knuckle and open hand HIA attacks and defense to finish with a blast. To enhance and drill,to build attributes for the blast.Everything is designed to be committed,to remain in close range for this particular pad set.Think of a tight hallway, chairs and tables.A wall, confined between two cars,no equipment, ring or cage.

ps-i will check out both your suggestions.

  • Hey, great vid! Was just wondering if you could maybe add in some slow motion footage of what you are doing, just so some of us can look at the breakdown of movements easily? I'm a bit of a noob and don't pick up easily on slight footwork/body movements. Thanks!

  • @whatanepicfailn00b Yes,i believe i have someone that may be able to to do that ,and if not i will do a step by step in the near future.

  • @seriousrampage fights are situational chains aren't always that bad :P

  • @seriousrampage they do work as a concept, filling the void when the opponent retreats. When they go follow, when they come receive, when they stay strike-chinese WC idiom i was taught.:)

  • @sharkfinnigan chain punches dont work in a street fight because if you do it right the first blow should already knock out your opponent. in wt we never go in chain punching cause it leaves us open for a counter. chain punching is a training method that teaches us the concept to strike if the way is "free". chain punches shoul be used like chi sao, If you loose contact with the arms of your partner the shortest distance is always the centerline punch. common misconception. I hope it helped

  • @login76 You cant tell by looking but I can, and also most people

  • @sharkfinnigan belfort's shoulder and torso are to square for his punches to be considered as a jab and cross. by looking at the vid, you cant tell which one is the jab! theyre both thrown identically, like chain punches.

besides chain punching is at cqc range. cqc is so close that you dont have the range of a jab or cross. ur too close for that.

  • @warriorofhonor i bet it could be effective, im not doubting, i would just like to see it, much respect
