Subject: IEKHS Color Guard & National Anthem Singers
IEKHS JROTC Mighty Rays Battalion Color Guard, led by Acting Cadet Command Sergeant Major Steffi Nicholas, posted the colors at last night's first ever Military Academy Fair sponsored by Congressional Delegate Dr. Donna
Christensen and hosted by UVI's President Dr. David Hall. The Battalion Commander, Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Shahara-Ann Donastorg executed a beautiful
rendition of the Virgin Islands March following a blow out performance of the Star Spangled Banner by her S-1, Cadet Captain Shelliece Nelson. The first time ever, in the Virgin Islands, of the Five-Pointed Star presentation featured briefings by representatives from four of the Five Service
Academies, namely West Point, Naval Academy, US Coast Guard Academy and the Merchant Marine Academy. With a fully packed facility in the USACC Building of the University's St. Thomas Campus, parents and students alike took in the
up-front presentations by the military academies explaining how they select new cadets from nominations made by several sources including the Delegate to Congress. Each representative gave great tips on how to get into the
draw for selection to attend any of the respective Military Academy.
