Northstar Intermediate topic - Cosmetic Surgery

Filmed on 9 June 2008 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for students learning English.
Students enrolled in 'Academic English 7', which is based on the Northstar text - Intermediate level.
The students were taught during the lesson about cosmetic surgery. The lesson involved reading information from the 'Reading and Writing' textbook and participating in a number of exercises.
Students became familiar with various words and phrases related to cosmetic surgery as well as other procedures used to beautify people.
To make the lesson fun, a dialogue sheet was made up and handed to each student. The dialogue sheet (2 pages in length) consists of scripts for student 'A' and student 'B'. They are able to choose from a variety of phrases and words with similar meanings as well as select different reasons from text boxes.
Students were enthusiastic about the exercise and appeared to enjoy it.
More importantly, this video will be something that each participating student can view and reflect upon in the future. It is a useful too to use as a comparison to current progress in their English studies.
