This model is the production run of the same model which achived approx 7 out of 10 miles, refered to as "a Bullet Train" on "BBC's James May's Toy Stories: Hornby" show on BBC 2.
For the record, with the correct maintanance, track conditions etc, the model would have gone a lot further.

  • may i ask why you have so many pendolino';s?

  • @jeffers550 I've only got two Pendolinos and one voyager, i've since sold one of the pendolinos.

  • Amazing video!

I am getting one of these trains in a few days time, and i was wondering do the lights work wilst running on DC? Or does it have to be DCC?

And if good track, controller ect how smooth a running is she?

    Thanks Matt

  • @TrainsHornby

Many thanks. Yes the lights work as long as it is a DCC Ready model. If you do ever go onto digital, you can fit the decoders required for digital use afterwards. As for smooth running, yes it is quite smooth, can be a bit jerkey when accelerating using DC as per this video (running on DC hense no other locos on the tracks), but I reccomend DCC control because it runs even smoother after fine-tuning the settings.

    Hope this helps.

  • Makings of a great layout

  • @howarth004 Cheers, but the layout is now firewood, quite literally. Demolished this about 10months ago.

  • very good video mate, what an awesome train set!

  • been on one of these they are amazing... like the Virgin Trains Pendalino it tilts and it will be one of the main trains to drop off passengers at Stratford in 2012 for the Olympics in London!... in 2012 these trains will not be blue and yellow... they will be white and yellow to mark the occasion with the london 2012 logo on the front!

  • This would be a great train to run beside my granddads Eurostar, he said he isn't getting it since it is to expensive and he like "rejuvenating old trains back to life", which he usually fails at. =/

  • @KBRAILVIDEOS Wow, i got the set just today and i am stunned with it, great set, ill be doing my own video on her soon.

    Matt

  • @KBRAILVIDEOS Ok thanks, im not sure if its a DCC ready model or not. But thanks anyway.
