I do not understand the mentality of our Politicians. It's obvious they don't get along behind closed doors because they're all sleazy, unscrupulous ego-maniacs, even to each other. They know we know when they're side-stepping honest points and avoiding tough questions.

If I had a penny for every time they are asked a question only to tell us how the other parties are doing it wrong, there would be no need to talk about the economy, because I'd be rich enough to sort it all out myself.

Making the Bank Of England independent was part of the convergence requirements for joining the Euro dictated to the UK by Brussels. This was enacted the day after Bliar won in 1997 when Bliar was committed to forcing the UK to dump the pound and join the Euro.
