I absolutely do not agree with god342. I would like to see his playing. There is melody built around the D chord and it is tough training for your fingers to pick the melody and alternately play the chord. You have done a great job.
We can all improvise, if we want to..

@mojorizen7 You are correct. I've always played the 1st fret E and it much easier to pick the melody notes as you play.
