On February 1, 2007, Freedom Party of Ontario leader Paul McKeever was a guest of On the Line with Christine Williams (CTS). In this second of three parts, the panel discussed a recently-passed law in Quebec under which the health care services provided by private clinics will be paid for with tax dollars. Despite being funded with taxes, clinics will be available only to those who pay extra fees.

  • without the government getting involved there wouldn't BE any lines!

  • A doctor says who gets service first not your wallet in Canada.

What the Freedom Party of Canada wants is the option to pay for treatment before someone who needs it more than they do and regardless of who came 1st.

Lets say someone needs a procedure.

What Paul McKeever wants is to be able to cut in front of the line using his cash regardless of who the doctor thinks should go first and regardless of who got in line first.

This lets wealthy people get treatment first, that's all.

  • a liver transplant??? LMAO are you serious. India is the only remaining place in the world that allows people to sell their organs for money. Maybe thats why he went there...

  • public and private healthcare have advantages and disadvantages, that's why I want both

  • and you think there's no people in Canada going overseas for transplants and other things? Truth is that Canada has a public monopoly on healthcare, that NEVER reduces waiting lists or increases treatment for everyone.

Many people in USA can NOT afford to be treated in the USA but must outsource their health care.

The harvard professor is a former editor of new england journal of medicine and is currently a professor at harvard and was interview in the bonus DVD of sicko.

  • There are 33 million canadian.. so you claim how many canadians go to USA for a MRI... and what studies are you using.

On Abc new . they talked about an american who went to INDIA for a live liver transplant .. and you talk about MRI..

  • "I" claimed to be an expert? When? I don't know about drugs, but many Canadians go to US for MRI's and those kinds of things. Which study backed by Harvard professor?

  • which video? You think there's no waiting lists in Canada?

  • where is the proof for the above statement. prices for drugs are the MOST expensive in the USA and this is backed by studies including one by a HARVARD professor..

You claimed to be a expert ...
