Clever, but the washer by itself was enough. With the other piece of scrap on there it makes the hole too small. It is a ball joint and needs to pivot and move around as the wheel turns and goes over bumps ect. It you make the hole the same size as the stud it can't do that and will bend and probably break in time. If your going fast when it does could be dicey. Just my observation, not trying to be a deek.
