Just finished putting the final touches on a two year project. It's pretty much the final fitting. it's a total hit with the 2009 Halloween trick or treaters. The Lewis gun, Sterling machine gun and back pack were all scratch built from photos. Total cost on those items was probably $200 but that counts alot of trips to the local Ace hardware store. Voice amp was from Wal-mart for $6.00. The helmet is a Master Replica "Stunt" edition. I think it was $120 (shipped). The armor is of the FX variety and cost in the neighborhood of $400 (shipped). The "dirt" is actually real and was applied with with a sponge and is held "on" with some Aqua-net hair spray so it will wash off later. You can't really see it on this clip but in person it looks very convincing. The ammo pouches were $ 7.00 each at my local army surplus. And yes I know there are a few inconsistancies such as the abplate and the knee sniper plate, those things will be added later but over all I think it looks pretty damn good. I am 6'2" and 210 lbs. and the fit is pretty good with just very minor "pinching" at the elbows and knees. My next project will be a MG-34, modeled after a "real" MG-43 with all the field attachments. It's located at the same military surplus place I bought the pouches at. They are very nice and let me put my hands on it for pics and measurement for a high degree of acuraccy. So when I finish it, I will post another clip on here to check it out......
