Legendary Berkeley based punkpop band Sweet Baby,(aka Sweetbabyjesus) was formed by singer Dallas Denery and singer/guitarist Matt Buenrostro. This is some rare footage from a gig in Ft. Worth on april 29, 1989.

Really sad that i missed this show, but i was way down in CC. Best we got was Sloppy Seconds & a cancelled Schlong show (I did get to meet them tho)

That is indeed Cometbus on drums. This was filmed at the legendary Axis in Fort Worth, the best club in all of Dallas/Ft. Worth back in the late 80s.

I was in a punk band @ the time - Lickety Split - and we opened the show for SBJ that night and hung out with them during the day.

Discovered these guys in '96 when Lookout! finally put the album on CD.

Best lyric of all time: "She's from Salinas, and she looks like Venus."

Even funnier if you've ever been to Salinas.

I'm pretty sure that's Aaron Elliott (Cometbus) on drums. 1989 would be about the time he was in the band.
