  • When I born, I Black, When I grow up, I Black, When I go in Sun, I Black, When I scared, I Black, When I sick, I Black, And when I die, I still black.. And you White fella, When you born, you Pink, When you grow up, you White, When you go in Sun, you Red, When you cold, you Blue, When you scared, you Yellow, When you sick, you Green, And when you die, you Gray.. And you calling me Colored?
  • Such a powerful song. Even if you do not understand the words, you can feel the energy behind them. Do not matter if the man was in a mental institution at the time or not. The words spoken are universal. Whether you are white, black, asian etc....you will face some kind of prejudice. I have white friends that ask the same question...I didnt hurt you...my ancestors did! So why are you treating me this way? i thought we were supposed to be equal?

  • are you serious, questioning the authenticity of the song...lol doesn't matter if he was in a mental institution or not...true alpha may have his personal issues, but this song was nail on the head, a caution, a very big one too....we were oppressed and our leaders @ the time stood against their oppression, and that is what matter. I was little @ the time when the song came up but we should appreciate it because he managed to show a light on it.

  • Thomas Sankara okifaga

  • galera procuro uma musica que n sei se e de alpha blondy que no refrao quem canta e uma mulher, quem souber avisa ai

  • I had no idea what this song was about, but I just loved the way it sounds. So sad, so true, that sucks. I just love Alphas he is the bomb, even though I don't understand a single word he is talking about. I am Hawaiian and from a different culture. Thank you for the lyrics of understanding, as a little girl I never knew what he sang about. Now I have a perspective in all his lyric songs.

  • @Fdmeister Whoa!! Tell 'em

  • eu amo alpha blondy a mais de 20 anos ouço alpha blondy ismael de blumenau sc

  • Great translation although there are two entries that are improperly translated.

1- @ 0:54 "If someone says that the whites are keeping us away from our knowledge". What he actually said is "If someone says that the whites betrayed him to bring him (to them)." Betrayed in this context can also loosely be understood as "tricked".

2-@3:43 "We are all God's sons". The real translation is "we are all God's children". "Den" whithout the modifier "chey" or "muso" (boy or girl) means child

  • @manw5961 Right He was depressed at this time

  • yes say!! rasta poué,rasta fou!!! et rasta cool!!!! thank s pour ce partage l amis!!!! for ever roots!!!!! feed back ouahhhhhh!
