i do not play the sheets in front of me but I do read music. I have never had a piano lesson in my life.
this is to all the people who like Yann Tiersen's talent as much as I do.

you dont need lessons to play piano and people pick up what notes are what, i cant read music but i can play whatever instrument you throw at me. no lessons

exactly. some form of musical instruction would have to have been present at some point. a person cant sit and play music like THAT and say hes had absolutely no lessons or teaching of some kind. ive taken lessons and ive always said if you can play piano, u can play anything. its not as easy as he makes it sound, however, he must have SOME natural talent because he makes it LOOK so easy.

he could have learned how to read sheet music from another instrument. i've never had piano lessons, but play about the same, and my sheet music ability comes from the trumpet.

uve had to have some kind of lesson to learn piano. nobody is just born knowing how to read sheet music and being able to play like that. sounds amazing tho.
