Thanks for posting this. I have never considered this viewpoint before. Genes being activated or deactivated to evolve all the different cell types in a multicelled organism. Many similarities to evolution but on a completely different scale of time and size. Like crystal structures on the microscopic level being mirrored in the macro structure of a mountain formed of rock with said crystal structure. What a relief from the previous idiotic, ill informed comments about the original post

@demandspacetourism Part 2. cells or functionaries in biological systems. Yes we have a long way to go, but we need to struggle to wake up because of the suffering and damage we are causing. If we postpone our endeavour to find ways to live in space until we are a mature species, we are risking killing our selves if we progress to slowly on the conscious level. Also, if our goal is purely integration with the biosphere, we risk extinction from meteorites. Mature or not, we need to turn to space

@psybinetic Part 1. What I like about your work is that you have captured the impressions I was unable to write down at the time, but clearly recollect. Ternence Mckenna explained to me myself and it made it easier to believe i'm not crazy. Yes we are macroscopic slime moulds and in the long run we will evolve into higher beings in the new environment of space, where there is a good chance that real evolution will aggragete us into s larger biology, the intelligence it evolves will relegate us

@mohawkman111 There is no need to prove something wrong that cant be proven itself. so go read you mother goose book and pray to old mother hubbard.

SP, don`t respond to these misguided baboons. (Sorry baboons)
Proper religious folk don`t act like this unless they are uneducated and don`t want to be educated.

I`m not religious either. but I don`t need to swear and show disrespect towards highly intelligent people to prove it.
Hey Brother. Love your style and love your message. I did the mushroom trips years back and it changed me as I see it changed you. My message is that once a species develops a scientific intelligence, it can no longer survive in a natural environment over the long run. Thus it has to cooperate intelligently to build its own artificial environment in the surrounding space. Our future survival as a species depends upon our turning our economic endeavour in this direction. demandspacetourism.

@demandspacetourism - eventually I think conscious intelligence will spread throughout the cosmos - but only after it has learned all the arts of living and sustainability so ably demonstrated by the web of life (which includes symbiosis). We *are* Nature as it awakens to itself. We have a long way to go - we are not yet a mature species and we think of 'high intelligence' as something we alone possess (and maybe some ETs).

It's entertaining to watch atheists create fall-back positions when faced with new facts which make it more difficult to deny God. Is atheism an opiate?
Some day, their denial will come to an end, and they'll seek His forgiveness on their knees, like the rest of us are already doing. The sooner, the better, folks.
Watch the video for which this one is a response: How many functioning parts are necessary, each of which gives no advantage without all of the others present?

Are you suggesting that the natural intelligence paradigm is a fall-back position? Guffaw! I submit that the intelligence you keenly seek is in Nature, in the Whole, not apart from it. Also, why are you on your knees?? Get up man!

"Rather than regurgitating the mantra that evolution is mindless, we can instead admit that evolution is a clever and sensible process whereby clever and sensible systems of bio-logic are woven into existence."
Evolution is a mindless process whereby clever and sensible systems of bio-logic are woven into existence. That's close to how evolution is currently portrayed by science.

As I am suggesting though (and it is obviously a significant departure from orthodoxy), evolution, as a process, bears the hallmarks of intelligence in terms of the specific way in which information is being accessed, stored, and organised - perhaps not so different in kind from the behaviour of neuronal systems (i.e. neural Darwinism which you have already alluded to)
