Collection Inspection: Department Store Window Displays

Shillitos, established in 1830, was the first department store to open in Cincinnati. Linda Bailey, curator of prints and photographs at Museum Center, discusses the history of department stores in Cincinnati, the downtown shopping experience, and the importance of window displays using several late nineteenth and early twentieth century photographs from our collection.
