Ryan Budget not about Deficit

The same thing's happening in the UK. The bank bail out followed by more tax cuts for the rich followed by the largest budget cuts in history. The UK deficit is a direct result of corporate welfare.

Irony - Obama chose GE Chairman and Chief Executive Jeffrey Immelt to head his President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness. Obama's cabinet (and many of his advisors) is full of a long list of bankers and Wall Street execs. It's not a Democratic issue, it's not a Republican issue. Our Government is corrupt from the top down.

@WeThePeopleUS if Ryan was so concerned about the solvency for medicare he would allow the government to negotiate prices with the pharmaceutical companies. Seeing as how it is that his party is owned by the pharmaceuticals however that's not going to happen. If he was so concerned about the deficit he wouldn't have voted for the Iraq War and the prescription drug program (again a give-away to his party's pharm donors) without at least paying for them.

This video could not be more wrong regarding the reason for the conservative platform for 2012 or any other campaign. The reason these topics are platform issues for us is due to the fact that they are the best principles and positions for our country. Now in respects to the Ryan budget. It is vastly superior to the Obama Democratic Plan. The fact is that we as Americans have to realize that medicare must be restructured in order to address our huge deficit issues. I will be a voice of reason

Impressive.. ass a conservative I'm almost tempted to flag you.(just kiding) but honestly something has to be done about entitlement programs so that they CAN last pas this generation. I wont hold any respect for a career politician who's only worried about his seat in office. In other words "so what..80% of Americans like to get bribed big deal!" the republicans need to Fall on their sword and stay there.

@St1kyFinguz bribery is particularly effective when the alternative is either death or crippling debt. There were of course attempts to reduce the costs of medicare including one program that republicans claimed would lead to the creation of death panels and the ability of the government to negotiate prices which the republicans also opposed because the pharmaceutical companies would lose money. Republicans are falling on their swords for their donors not the country's sake.

@smpunditz My brother, European health care has both arbitrary waiting list and "We can no longer help you" Panels + Insurance companies for-dang-sure have death panels. Why should anyone expect different from Obama Care?
Btw.. President Obama surrendered the Public Option and Drug Negotiations before the votes were cast so blame some Democrats with the Republicans.

@St1kyFinguz I keep hearing these European horror stories from conservatives however that doesn't seem to bother the Europeans very much at all who have approval ratings in the 70s and 80s.
Your argument that we should assume 'Obamacare' would have death panels because private insurance companies do makes no sense. There is no logical connection whatsoever in your assertion.

@smpunditz If you didn't catch 1 European Medicare Horror story from the liberal wing of our news spectrum then you might need to ask for an apology from MSNBC or what ever...the stories are out there but it's taboo for Europeans to bash their own system.
regardless, what makes you think that Obama care wont tell patients "We can no longer help you" do you think that states will continue to move towards perpetual dept? Is there a cure for death in this plan that I should know of!?

@St1kyFinguz 'the stories are out there but it's taboo for Europeans to bash their own system.'
Poll ratings are anonymous so if true that isn't relevant to my point. I'm sure there are going to be problems with any healthcare system that doesn't make their's worse then ours. By the way what the Ryan plan does is shift more burden onto the states. cont

The public option is cheaper then the private one period. By not having one we do not eliminate the costs of healthcare we just increase and shift it. Society will still pay the price one way or another whether it be in less disposable income, more money being sucked away from other parts of the market, increased bankruptcy and poverty or dead bodies. Meanwhile prices will still go up.
Your solution doesn't solve the problem it just changes the consequences.
