A historic event at Turnham Green tube station in Chiswick, west London. Metropolitan Steam Locomotive No 1 hauls Jubilee coach 353, ex-Metropolitan Railway Milk Van No 4 and Electric Locomotive No 12 "Sarah Siddons" along the District Line at 10:20pm on Tuesday Jan 8th 2013 - the eve of London Underground's 150th anniversary. En route from Ealing Common Depot to Lillie Bridge Depot between West Kensington and Earl's Court stations. (Turn up the sound and keep listening right to the end)

The move was in preparation for the main sold out celebration 150th birthday runs, with added Bluebell Chesham carriages, on Sunday Jan 13 and 20 through the city from Kensington Olympia to Moorgate via Edgware Road. Tickets for the short rides - at up to £180 for a first class single - were snapped up in an oversubscribed ballot: http://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/assets/down...

Details of the two days of LU150 Shuttle runs are at: http://www.uksteam.info/tours/t13/t01... and http://www.uksteam.info/tours/t13/t01... with excellent extra information at: http://www.ianvisits.co.uk/blog/2013/...
