Veneer mill operating at the 50th American Thresherman show. Mill is being powered by a Keck-Gonnerman steam traction engine. Rotary veneer could be used to make baskets, berry boxes or plywood layers. Before we had cardboard boxes, we used baskets and other containers made from rotary cut veneer.

  • this machine was from jonesboro il and was used to make fruit baskets the ATA has owned it for many years.

  • Thanks for the info!!! I visited that factory many years ago when they made berry boxes! OSHA inspectors would have had seizures if they ever looked in there. It was right out of the 19th century.

  • wow like a giant chainsaw chip

  • I hadn't thought of that...you are right! I really like the noise it makes when slicing.
