Analyzing recoil with a pistol with a high speed camera

We used a 1000 frame per second camera to look at the recoil management of a 5" M&P Pistol with factory loads. Mike Hughes tries different grip and stance variants to minimize the "tuning fork" action of the muzzle of the gun. The super slow motion is fascinating to analyze the action of the recoil through the shooter's arms and upper body.

Awesome vid Mike! I like that you are so analytical about all these seemingly small aspects, and truly have an open mind about it. I've experimented a lot with T&E'ing so many little technique aspects, and it's amazing to see what such small changes of a few degrees of body/arm/hand/stance placement, differences in tension, etc. can have such a drastic effect on performance. Keep up the great work man! :-)

Mike great vid. I have also experimented in this area using video. What do you think about combining this stance change with diff. recoil springs?
