My comment was added to the wrong video...this comment was supposed to be added to the truck compay at the church roof collapse...durn computers anyway..
It's not a backdraft,it's not a flashover and it's not a rollover. In this example heavy fire in the attic void space is driven out from under the soffit by a collapsing roof.Ladder grunts take note when positioning Truck. Fires such as these were much more common in in the 1970's and early 80's in churches, older strip mall construction and buildings with large open exspanses such as warehouses and bowling alleys.I have not seen everything in 35 years on the job but have seen this a time or two.
omg a backdraft does not occur as soon as u open up the compartment , u introduce oxygen into the fire gas filled area it then reaches its explosive limit which takes up to 2-3 mins sometimes it is not an instant door open bang take that, u watch too many films my friend. a flashover maintains its heat and is a constant burn which occurs with in the compartment
he is right this is a back draft NOT i repeat NOT A FLASHOVER if ur a firefighter calling diz a flashover dats sad all firefighters should be able to tell diz iz a backdraft
flashover-sorry dude NO BACKDRAFT---building was open, started in the back and they had no time to react..a backdraft is more explosive and would have occured if the building was closed and they just opened the door
dat woz a back draft, i seen the vid today at a fire marshall course in Dublin

have some pride in your job and stop typing like that.

a flashover wouldn't knock guys over like that, it would just burn them. a backdraft is exactly what you see here.
