I didn't have the GLD69 installed for XM weather. Has that been worth the money in your opinion?
-
flyboy98, I've been practicing with that simulator for a few weeks now. I should be good! Thanks again.

You could have bought a nice car for what you spend on that pice of hardware. I love aviation.

Thanks! Great introduction. I'm planning to install a G500 in my Arrow.

Thanks! Great! I wish I still had my 310

That's cool. I am still undecided between the Garmin & Aspen units although I am leaning towards the Garmin. Looking forward to viewing more of your adventures!

I'm having this same upgrade done and it will complete this week. Any advice for first flights while I become familiar with the G500? I have a GNS 430W instead of the 530W but there isn't a lot of difference. Thanks for making your videos. They actually helped me decide between the Garmin and Aspen.

@spionen007 Thanks for the nice comments. I believe Garmin has a G500 simulator on their website. That is a good way to practice. Have fun with the system...you will love it!

Nice job, great video. What is a good estimate of down time and cost? Were you happy with the shop? Who was the install shop? Thanks.

@Saltlick11 Thanks. My install took four weeks and was done by Aerotronics in Billings, Montana. Top quality and very professional. -J

Very nice tour, thanks for doing this. What was the installation process like? I heard it is somewhat complex for the G500/G600 unit?? Also will you be upgrading to the synthetic vision?

@cptndavis I wouldn't say it was overly complex. The Garmin required a fair amount of panel butchering compared to the Aspen. I would like to add the synthetic vision but the current price puts me off. I am hoping Garmin will lower the price someday!
