I have a local coin shop i've thought about buying from. They have 1oz. Walking Liberty's for $2.00 over spot. This a good deal? I'd much prefer to buy local but I want to make sure i'm making realistic purchases. Realistic meaning that these are easy to buy things with if needs be. Thanks.

ha ha ha perth mint said not due to metal shortage? We are running out of silver.

The USA mint is not selling proof 2009 silver eagles nor mint state uncirculated 2009 silver eagles. They claim all planchets are being used for the 2009 bullion silver eagle.

I think you'll gain more if you buy as much silver as possible without the premium. When you buy the 1kg silver coins you already paid maybe 20-30% premium and if silver price goes higher you'll probably only make 20-30% premium or less when you sell

seriously? I ordered some from First Majestic and they use NWT Mint as their supplier. Its been 5-6 weeks now..still waiting

thats true formulaprimer - a default may never happen LEGALLY.

There has never been and never will be a court that settles defaults in actual physical because the settlement is in US dollars which is still the world reserve currencies until Triffin's Paradox gets solved by IMF SDR's.

the shortage is in coins, not silver. Just like last winter.

so far yep ur right. if the price of silver drops via manipulation right now, and not a lack of demand - then we'll see shortages of the physical.

Interesting. I can only wonder what will happen if the price of silver falls down to say 15 dollars. One funny thing is that the premiums remain high, that can only mean there is a distrust in the market. I have also noticed that US peace dollars have a very high premium. I think Franklin Sanders wrote about this as "horizontal devolution" in the scramble down Exters pyramid towards the ultimate safe have: gold and silver
