Why is there a month between gear changes. It takes forever to change up a gear. Acceleration would be much improved if the bus had better ratios.
-
@jaggass I agree, the Allison gearbox is just like your standard car automatic, if the driver floors it it redlines, when he lifts his foot rpms drop cos it shifts up a gear. Then when he puts his foot down again it shifts down to redline the previous gear before shifting up.

the noise of high revs are better

Ahr, memories.,,, I love this sound ;-D

The top speed of this bus should be 55 MPH if the bus has a 4.87:1 final drive ratio. That is the maximum allowable for a bus with an Allison MT643/644/647 transmission.

Perfect!

Yellow line reached on the tachometer ! Engine may damage ! But nice engine roaring at 2050 RPM (reaches the end of green line as it must be yellow line, after it the red line goes.). I love THDs and its sound, also love allison mt647!!
As they say, push the pedal to the metal to make the engine screamy roar!!

better with a ZF gearbox instead that allison gearbox changes at high rives stressing the engine
