1950s HiFi arm. Here re-wired for stereo. The vintage Stanton 500 cartridge is tracking at about 5 grams.

  • The coffee can is filled with audiophile approved birdseed. I stuck it on the top of the can with tape because I really wanted to hear what the damned thing sounded like. Of course, I was amazed. I will be giving it a proper home at some point but right now it is very easy to quickly put the arm wherever I need a working tonearm. I just do a quick check of the mounting distance - 8 3/4 inches - and I am in business.

BTW, your Bluebird video has been posted to a Baltimore arts list.

  • Pretty Groovy! Not sure about the coffee can mount, but it does seem to work.

I have 2 Gray Research tone arms - one mounted on a Gates turntable, and another mounted on a Fairchild. I love mine.
