If you're a car nut, a drive on Germany's autobahns has to be near the top of your "bucket list." This clip can't do it justice, but hopefully it'll give you an idea of what it's like.

  • it doesnt look like your going 230 mph

  • @TheSnaunner that's cuz i'm doing 230 kilometers per hour. 230mph is supercar territory. Gotta rent a Veyron to do that.

  • I´ve never really become aware of how much fun it is for foreign people to drive on a Autobahn....and yes, sometimes it´s fun.

  • @Kratzbuerstenvisage the concept of being allowed to drive as fast as u want seems almost unreal to us, because our law enforcement/ governments/ insurance lobby in N america are so hung up on speed being the reason for car accidents. Which is why they go crazy enforcing our speed limits.

  • Dude the left hand lane is for passing only, as soon as you pass cars pull back over to the right (when space allows) , don't stay in the left lane

  • Pretty sure the rules are that you have to let faster cars pass

  • @Kratzbuerstenvisage America is like Canada's Mexico. I live 20 minutes from the Canadian border and Canada is so much cleaner and safer.

  • ive done 230 in Michigan. Just need to do it where no one lives, like the UP.

  • I´ve been to the US a couple of times, but never Canada actually :(

    Mercedes E Cabrio...nice car btw.

  • @bernietheeyeguy Man, you need to see how brazilian roads are. Only few of them are in good conditions, and even in the good roads you can`t pass 110 km/h. Well, the cars here aren`t very safe, so it would be dangerous to speed them up. I can`t wait to travel to Germany...

  • @bernietheeyeguy When someone is behind you and the gap on the right is not big enough for you to move in this gap without heavy breaking stay left, even if the car behind you could go faster than you. If the gap is big enough for you to move right with just stop pushing on the accelaration, move right.

If you go right every time you see a small gap driving becomes very stressful, for you and the others around you.

  • my way i drive to work looks like that, too.

BUT i see thats something special for a guy from canada :)

    have fun in germany :)

  • Great Video. Your passion and excitement really shines through. I'm jealous!

  • in my first drivinglesson my teacher told me to drive over 200 kph ;P

  • @RocknLester2011 I have never heard of that happening in Germany, at least not where I lived in Niedersachsen. I lived in Germany for 8 years. I hear of it all the time over here (USA) I lived in England for a long time too and I've heard of it happening once there, to a friend of mine.

  • @rahgahnah There's no end to the things people don't know. They don't know stopping distances, safe following distances, why it is dangerous to pass on the right and and and. That's the problem with making the driving test so easy and having no training requirement. We (Americans) start off as bad drivers because of that and with bad habbits get even worse. Very few of us are safe at any speed.
