Pokemon FireRed - Catching Moltres

For those of you who are familiar with the RBY series, you'll notice Moltres has a new home, the First Island. After beating cinnabar's gim leader, Bill will come to you and take you to the first island. All you have to do is go north to the termal springs and get HM06 Rock Smash. From there, surf north and solve some mini puzzles, and Moltres will be at the top of the mountain.

I decided to speed up the boring part, I'm sure you'll understand why.

I got pretty close to catching it with pokeballs, but in the end I caught it with an ultraball. If you decide to use pokeballs, make sure to bring at least 20 or more.

whenever i play my cuzin's leaf green i waste about 25/30 [just an estimate] ultra balls just 2 catch each 1 lol

lol thats probably just bad luck. its possible to catch each 1 at the first pokeball you throw, just really, really not probable

i don't really think of it as bad luck! it happens 2 me 2 any legendary pkmn even in my gold version [b4 it stopped working] & the same thing happens 2 me in my pearl version 2 with azelf, misprit, & the 3rd 1 i 4got its name :P

that would be uxie :p. the legendary that gives me the most trouble is probably lugia in my gold version (it still works =D although my silver version cant save games anymore D= ), as I only caught it once without a master ball, and took me ages <.<

that's what exactly happened 2 my gold version lol i kinda miss playing it! i always catch Ho-oh! with a master ball
