Gtcu17 the BDS was just renovated, remember George O'Leary the guy with the grand plans who then left on a boat to nowhere. We can't even fill the current configuration, not to worry CPJ will change that.

It was known that the old South Stands were going to be removed after this game. For those of you who didn't see it, the seats were a mile from the field, and 70+ years of traffic pounding on North Ave helped that end of the stadium deterrorate at a fast rate. Also, GT's football record was up and down for 20 yrs. The old South Stands were empty except when old SEC foes brought fans. You may not like the Wardlaw Center nor the new North Deck, but both are far superior than the old South Stands.

we could play at the Georgia Dome like Miami plays at Dolphin Stadium while its being renovated...

It would be nice to re-model that stadium. We could probably do it if the athletics department got some more money. I think Paul Johnson will be able to turn Tech into an ACC contender. So maybe stadium renovation is not out of the question.

Did the fans in attendence know this would be the last game in front of the U?
I was 3 when they destroyed our historic stadium. I still cannot believe we let that happen.
My season tickets are on the lower hanging level of the new upper deck opposite where the U was. I would much rather have had the athletic center on that endzone, and left the U with an added upper deck. It was a beautiful stadium. A real shame..

it was definitely a HUGE mistake to destroy the south stands for that new athletic building. in my opinion, Bobby Dodd could have been a huge double-decker horseshoe like Ohio State, but now we're battling for loudness/attendance. Its just not a design we can build upon... oh well.
