"Sheebeg and Sheemore" Annie & Mac Old Time Music Moment

This tune is said to be the first tune that Turlough O'Carolan composed. It is often played on the hammered dulcimer, fiddle or pennywhistle. Here Mac plays it on the low D harmonica, accompanied by Annie on rhythm guitar.

Carolan was the blind Irish.master of the harp. He was known to have people break down and cry from hearing him, including royalty. I know it's the region where you're from but the corrct Irish pronuciation is She-vegk She War". The "h' after the first letter of the words changes the pronunciation..... it's called eclipsis. It translates as; She's small, she's big. Beannacht leat agus go raibh maith agat. Slan. (bless you and thank you, bye)
