Children of Kansas National Guardsmen will have the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors and build memories during the 10th annual Kansas National Guard Kids Camp, July 6-10, at the Kansas Regional Training Institute in Salina. Campers range from age 8 to 12 and are from all across Kansas.
A similar Teen Camp is also available for ages 13-17, Aug. 1-5 in Salina, During the camp, the participants are divided into squads and take part in a variety of team-building exercises and experiences, games, sports, target archery, target paintball, swimming, arts and crafts, military transportation simulator, M-16 laser simulator, a night road march and more.
The Salina Police and Fire Departments will be involved with activities throughout the week. The Kansas National Guard will host the military simulations and a land navigation experience using Global Positioning Systems and compasses.
