"In Phase" is the audio equivalent of putting two flashlight batteries in the correct way. The light lights. If you put one battery in the correct way and the other one in the wrong way, the two batteries 'cancel' each other out and you get no light. In audio, the mono parts of the song (typically voice) will cancel out, resulting in echoing vocals. If someone has the actual album or CD and can put it directly on YT, it should be fine. I suspect the versions here now are copies of each other.

Great song but I wish that someone would upload a copy that's clean (this one's reasonably clean) but also 'in phase'. When you listen to this in mono, Melanie's voice disappears, making this copy useful for playing on a home stereo or Ipod, but it can't be played on the radio when requested....what a shame.
