The sound on this stinks...Tune sounds like bad King Crimson, the riff that is...However, I saw the do this one and others in Philadelphia in 2003, and the sound and playing was excellent...Have to blame the camcorder for this...Lloyd is a very nice cat, and plays a bad guitar, but can't sing...Verlaine an underrated guitarist...Saw the 'Telivision farewell' concert @ NYC Central Park, and Verlaine sounded great because he really had the chance to stretch out.
I love Television and Robert Lloyd, he rocks better than Jimmy Rip but most important for me is Tom Verlaine. I think is an injustice that there is no records from him beteween 1992 to 2006!!!!!!.
I love playing around with those albums whether it's improvising around them, or playing the song as is. I learned every song on Marquee Moon and it keeps me practicing. In my opinion Little Johnny Jewel is the most fun to improvise around
Have an awesome day! And if you could find any of Television's newer tracks I'd love to hear them
I don't think they'd ever do anything as Television without the original 4 members. My assumption is that the arrangements for these newer/unreleased tracks were all worked out with those 4, & only those 4 would be playing them.
You never know, but I doubt it. I too LOVE all 3 albums. I saw them once in Toronto in the early 90's & it was amazing. I saw Verlaine once solo as well. I miss them. Blessings!!
While it wouldn't be the same I would think that if Verlaine was to reform Television for one last album it would be with Jimmy Rip and Billy Ficca since Lloyd looks to have no interest in the matter,
I've been listening to all three Television albums over the last two years and they seem to NEVER get old, but I'd love to hear some new songs
One can always hold out hope. Richard Lloyd was crowing on his website that it was over, as in OVER. To say never or forever precludes absolute knowledge of the future & great guitar player that he is, he doesn't have those abilities.
Right now though it seems remote at best, but...these guys aren't getting any younger & Television together means more money for any & all of them, then when they are apart. So necessity may dictate that we someday get to hear all the newer stuff. I hope so.
A new song ... and a lost song.
Feel so sad and glad.
Why do you I have to wait so long each time to hear a new song of his.
I love Tom Verlaine's music. Thanks for posting.
