  • there is no single av that can catch all viruses thrown at it.i dont in all honesty believe these tests truly show what a av can do.its all random.you could have thrown another ten random links at avira 10 and it could catch them all.its all down to how you browse the web.with a good website checker you should never come across half of these trojans.

  • @MrArnold1972 These tests are not meant to be a 100% indication of how something performs because for that you would need a much larger sample size. These tests merely show it up against 10 zero day threats, the kind of stuff the average user would find, and shows how it deals with the LATEST threats.

  • @Bunyip783 hi ben.thanks for your reply and i totally agree with you.the one free program that i would strongly reccommend is sandboxie.i have this and feel 99% safe with it.what are your thoughts on this program?

  • @MrArnold1972 It is a flawless application when ran on a 32-bit operating system. I feel it's a waste of time on 64-bit, though.

  • @Bunyip783 again thanks for your opinion.i have sandboxie plus comodo internet security 4.only thing im not sure about is the comodo antivirus.is it very good??or should i disable it and have another av running.thanks for your vids they are great.all the best.

  • @MrArnold1972 It is definitely decent enough to run along with the rest of Comodo and it seems to be improving every time there are tests done on it.

  • @Bunyip783 why

  • @Issaland hello.yes ive been using comodo for the past year and nothing has got by it.its solid and i intend to stick with it.depends how you use the web really.all the best and thanks.

  • @MrArnold1972 Yes, I use also CIS, Sandboxie. For scanning I use MBAM, SAS and HitmanPro - they never found anything under CIS protection, which is good :)

  • Comodo IS (free or paid) would alert you about ANY threat (both unknown or known) that tries to access your computer. Comodo works under default deny rule which means any unknown or known dangerous application won't pass to your computer because it isn't on Comodo's white list. I prefer more pop-ups from Comodo than being silently infected by unknown malware that hasn't been yest classified to Avira's or other heuristics based antivirus software. If u count on heuristics u'll be infected.

  • lol, stupid avira, avast, CIS and kaspersky are better.

  • Nice review, though version 10 is a bit of an embarrassment. It looks like the original developers left after version 9. Used to love Avira, not anymore though if they carry on with this version, it's horrible.

  • @ Guunny

Id recommend the latest version of Avast!

You will forget that its installed...even with all the shields selected during setup. Very light indeed, and its caching mechanism is one of, if not the best. Reduces I/O reads & writes and has very little CPU time.

    Check it out.
