how did they get the lights to be red like that!

dam how did they get the lights to be colored like that?
-
Sounds just like 1996-98 Phantoms from Grand Rapids, Michigan
-
But mostly I had seen the 2002 and later NFIs on that route (2600s, 2700s and 2800s), plus a few 2900s.

Just to let you know, TriMet will buy its next new low-floor buses from Gillig for the first time since 1997. Apparently TriMet went back to Gillig because they had an initial falling out concerning the New Flyer 2900 series buses (in their first year of operation, some of the 40 buses went through nearly five engines, some needing complete replacement).

But I must say the sound of the M11E Plus in this bus is a far cry from the sound of the Cummins L10 (mechanical) used in the 1990-91 Gillig Phantoms.
-
Route 70 had been home to the ten LNG-fueled buses (two Gillig Phantoms, #1464-1465, and eight Flxible Metro D's, #1809-1816) for what I believe was the entire lifespan to both fleets.

I drove this route for a year straight, loved it, for a center st run.

Actually, these M11s are electronically-controlled as well. Even the former L10 went electronic starting in 1992. The L10-280E is used in TriMet's 1700 and 1900 series Flxibles, among others. The ISM was a new version of the M11E Plus.

@ClassicTVMan81 It sounds almost like our 0400 series except we have electronic m11
Route 70 also has New Flyer low floors.

Incidentally, that was the next Route 70 bus to leave from Milwaukie Transit Center. It was one of the elusive 2000 series with the DD50 Engine
