Clips and pics from the December 2008 snow storm in Portland, Oregon, including snow ball throwing from the Vista Avenue Bridge (viaduct) where some folks were trying to hit a target, and a woman enjoying street skiing down Main Street near the Park. The storm dumped several inches of snow and blanketed the city in white. Most of the video is of the west hills close to downtown near Jeld-Wen Field (then PGE) park.

  • I LOVE THIS!!! I just moved here from the midwest in the summer of 2008 and at Xmastime of '08 I was so homesick for the white christmases of home - who needed home! I put this on my FB page so everyone at home could see how beautiful PDX is - thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

  • @sem1758 Thanks for your nice comment. I'm glad you liked it!

  • Very nice work! Who does the music?

  • @bapuja Thank you! The music is one of a number of optons available to you using Apple's iMovie on my MACBook Pro. I uploaded the pictures and video from my digital camera (Sony cybershot) and used iMovie to make the movie. It also provides the feature to "snap" scene transitions to the beat of the music. The piano melody seemed to fit the peaceful, up-beat tone of the video. If I were to do it again, I would probably leave out the bus and train scenes. You could choose your iTunes music too.

  • @moebius432 It's the Vista Bridge (Vista Avenue Viaduct), "an arch bridge for vehicles and pedestrians located in Portland, OR. It connects the neighborhoods of King's Hill and Portland Heights via Vista Avenue above Goose Hollow. MAX Light Rail and Jefferson Street travel underneath.... Completed in 1926, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places, as the Vista Avenue Viaduct, in 1984." As per Wikipedia anyhow.

  • What bridge is that at the end?

  • @Vistamister Thank you Vistamister for your warm words.
