ive always thought this was the best ending when i did a performance in rent we did this ending also (i played tom collins even though im a girl) its just so much more emotional

OMG I have seen this version of the ending before(It's been a while),but just now I instantly started crying when I saw Angel walk on the stange and hold Collins's hand.

Last 4 weeks we had our school play and we did RENT (my friend suggested it), I played Angel because, A. No one wanted that part (they don't get her artistic genius) and B. I wanted to even though I'm a girl!!
We did a few parts on the film and the Broadway, but we did this ending instead of showing Mark's full film on the projector. We saw a lot of people cry when I started walking behind them and hold my friend's hand (the guy who played Collins).

This ending is so much better than the original. The part where Angel is missing and then walks out and the look on Collins face. *BREATHTAKING*
