If you can do it, Obama can't stop you from doing it. Not without causing trauma.

Just want to point out the story of Anatoli Bugorski who stuck his head in a Russian particle accelerator. The left side of his face swelled up and was paralysed plus he went deaf in his left ear but he did survive.

I won't be sticking any part of me in the LHC in the near future.

The radius of the earth is about 6378 km or 6378e3 meters. The radius of the observable universe is about 93 billion lightyears, which is about 8.8e26 meters. If you devide the size of the observable universe by the size of the earth you get a factor of 1.38e20. The radius of a proton is about 0.88e-15 meters, so if you multiply those two you will get 121000 meters, or 121 km, which is the size of a (very) small country.

When i combare a proton from a LHC how big is this combined as the earth to the universe? And with universe i mean the observable universe. In other words: I'd like to know the size of the earth to the universe compared to the proton and for example a Continent/the world or even our solarsystem?

I think the difference is that the microwave oven costs maybe $200 for a really good one, but the LHC costs about $4 billion. Not sure that the insurance covers that.
