The script needs work and half the transition shots didn't match up. I would recommend writing about something you have first hand knowledge about, or at least do a lot of research. And it's always good to let actors know where they are coming from rather than handing them a script if you expect a solid performance. The potential is there.

I liked it. Even with the oh-so-popular bashing of the military and anything patriotic, the kid proves that everyone needs SOMETHING to believe in.. some hope that there is something or someone worth waiting for other than an endless string of one night stands.

Aside from that, it was ok. It started out pretty good, but became odd and awkward during the second half.

This doesn't have shit to do with the military. This has everything to do with a guy who has all sorts of personal and emotional issues of his own. Take it from a gay guy in the military with a boyfriend, been together 2 years and half now, most of us aren't like that. Anyone with common sense can distinguish the difference between the military and themselves. I can't help but feel that this marine was a poor attempt at someones attempt to understand gays in the military.

Boring.

The only good point of this short is that it shows a clear parallel with the horrible and homophobic Catholic tradition, that says, you can be a homosexual as long as you live like an impotent and frigid neuter. This guys choice, has no meaning as he only had to chose between jerking off and have sex once with someone. His inability to for emotional attachments just goes hand in hand with his desire to risk his life and kill people in the name of an ideology.

Boring.
