Woman With Shotgun Kills Rapist in Self-Defense (MO)

On October 25, Ronnie Preyer broke into a Cape Girardeau woman's home and raped her. Five days later - Halloween night - he tried again. This time, the unnamed woman used a borrowed 12-gauge shotgun on the perpetrator, whom prosecutors call a career criminal. Preyer, who had several past convictions, succumbed to his wounds later that night. The woman will not be charged.

While it's not cowardly to face and accept death, it isn't noble and is a needless loss to die at the hands of evil for nothing. It's particularly senseless to die if it could have been stopped.

Most people wouldn't want the monsters to win. By allowing them victory, you empower them to go on and harm someone else. Humans have a responsibility to protect their families and protect themselves. God will ultimately sort out the consequences, but if someone had a chance to stop a monster and didn't, what would you think of them?
