NizCast is a series of videos helping players of all skill levels improve. If you play Heroes of Newerth I definitely recommend watching. For more information please visit my thread on the HoN forums: http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showthread.php?t=312397

Episode 4 covers the basics of controlling the lane creeps. Last hitting and denying is loosely covered as well as pulling and countering pulls. More in-depth laning videos will surely be added.

  • A little change, pull time is reduced to 7-6 seconds so players better start pulling at :54.

  • @cakin135 I actually still do almost every pull at :53. Most players have switched to a :54 or :55 pull though. Once again just one of those things that you have to feel out for yourself.

  • How can I play all alone on the map like you did ?

  • You should also mention the secondary purpose of the "lasthit dance" and why it's preferable to just pushing H and waiting until you can lasthit: it's to get into a better position to harass without being harassed in return.

  • @NizCast Basically it is good, but if played improperly it can actually hurt you and your team.If you push a tower early you need to become a ganker. Look to jump out and kill the other lanes or even top. Most games players won't ward accordingly for the lost tower so killing them top should be easy. If they see you coming, look for a ward where the river intersects top lane or in between both top pull camps. If they don't ward, anywhere but their 2nd tower is an easy kill. Hope that helps.

  • @xialucien By killing the tower you get the early gold bonus for you and your team. You also open up the potential to gank the lane (assuming you are destroying top as legion). However most of the time when players take an early tower they don't play the advantage. They now feel unsafe staying in the lane that they just pushed. So they leave. Giving top free farm again. By taking the tower you need to take advantage of it by either suddenly ganking top or pushing towers fast. Fast 3 towers = $

  • @NizCast cool thanks for explaining, as for the side lanes would it ever be a good idea to try to down enemy tower early on?

  • @NizCast They can do this safely because they are very aware of where ALL enemy heroes are. They also have their teammates helping out with constant MIA calls. It is also hard to notice the difference but generally "pros" are extremely well positioned to account for a possible gank from expected angles. I hope that helps explain it. Character Limit :C

  • @xialucien Mid is actually very different. You see a lot of higher skilled players pushing mid for 2 reasons. 1) They attack multiple creeps down to lower HP, then use the AoE ability to last hit all of them. This allows them to last hit the creeps without them reaching 1 hit deny range. 2) By pushing middle at the right time, you also control the lane forcing the enemy hero to either tank the creep wave while going for rune or miss out on a ton of xp while the tower kills the wave quickly.
