By Thursday of that horrifying week I had enough. I wrote this song, made this video - and emailed it to everyone I knew. I was so livid at what I was seeing I quit my job and bought a ticket to DC the following day to protest the most inept administration I've ever witnessed. This is the start of that anger. • My God, Adam... Where on earth did this animosity come from? I have never heard you use this amount of vitrolic bile! Yes, Dub-ya et al was slow on the uptake, but they did act. "We'll watch you cry, watch you die, we're more inclined to wait?" AND, "You're much too poor, much too black, you don't even vote?" Louisiana is trying to heal, but this message only serves to drive a spear of division into the mix; you might well have said, Louisiana, you're not worth a pot to piss in.

  • "you might well have said, Louisiana, you're not worth a pot to piss in."

That's exactly what Bush DID say. You're just now realizing that?

  • Bush may have shown that, but I don't believe intentionally. After all, the man's an idiot. Who else would stay with an elementary class for 17 minutes after being told America was under attack? "Leaderless State" may be a true statement, but the song has undertones that I can't believe the Adminstration actually thought, and I can't believe you feel that way.

  • Eric, I'm taking on the voice of the administration in the song. I personally quit my job and marched AGAINST the administration the day after I made this video. And not intentional? You think it would've taken 4 days for a response if it was a white guy on the roof of his mansion in Maine waving at the helicopters? You actually believe that? He played a political game with people's lives (Democratic Governor) and it didn't matter because they weren't his base.

  • Amen. Our government is more than defunct. It is outrageous that it takes a celebrity to keep the issues from Katrina in the spotlight. So angering. Keep posting, keep talking, keep going. That's what we can do.

  • Great song. Agree completely.

  • Such an oh-my-God song! Good job dude!

  • Just found this video and consider it Genius.

Good luck with the new guy.

  • You have to remember that it wasn't just Katrina that took its toll on Louisiana, there was Rita, too that September. This was a disaster like had never been seen! As far as keeping destruction in the spotlight, is anyone talking about the Cat 5 (Andrew) that hit "all-white" Homestead, Florida? NO! Keep it real, A.

  • The worse is still going on. Brad Pitt went down to collect money to build houses for the people that lost everything. Brad Pitt he is not a government official. Where are they??? Why isn't the government still not helping the people down there. Did we erase them from our country. People we need to wake up. These people still need help they pay taxes and they suffer. The government is responsible to help. I'm just as mad as you are. Good video good message. Lets not forget.
