Fundamentally it is not immigrants that are bankrupting America, it is greedy corporations. Wall street bankers who thrive on pitting worker against worker to see who will work for the lowest wage. "Hey! Lets have American workers fight against immigrants for shitty jobs and get rich in the process!" Which is why the issue is not immigration, but class. The workers of this country, whether immigrant or not, need to unite against the capitalists.

Finally, this is not a racial issue, but many attempt to twist the facts to make it one, like illegals are persecuted like the Jews were, or something. All federal immigration laws in place today were enacted by the House, Senate and the President, right? Are any of those lawmakers in the Klan or Nazi's? Of course not. The flood of illegals has simply gotten way out of hand, is bankrupting this country and has got to be stopped. It's that simple. Thanks for letting me post.

The lawmakers in Washington may not be Klan or Nazi members, but the policies that they have erected in regards to criminalizing immigration are identical to the policies that the Klan and the Nazi's have pursued.

For your second comment: Illegal immigrants don't pay social security, federal income tax, or property taxes. They do receive food stamps and free elementary education. The only tax they might pay rarely is sales tax . They insist on being paid cash just for these reasons. And you can't give an undocumented person a union job because there are big penalties for companies caught doing so. And why, because it's AGAINST THE LAW and law has to be respected, otherwise you have total anarchy.

Third- yes it does cost money to provide services to immigrants, but think of how much more money it would cost to not educate them, to let them get sick and not treat them, to let them starve. We live in a society that helps each other, and that makes us fit to survive. Fourth- I was suggesting that the law be changed so that it is easier for immigrants to get union jobs. really easier for all working people to get secure union jobs.

I would like to point out that I have already paid for one child to graduate college, and my other child is at University of Illinois right now. Now to address your comments: I think you would agree that Nazi's and the KKK would both consider rape and murder punishable by imprisonment. First- No, we should not release all rapists and murderers. I specifically said non-violent offenders should be provided alternatives to imprisonment. Second- undocumented workers and workers with fake document do pay taxes because it is automatically taken out of their paychecks, whether or not they are able to collect.

Ok and finally, after reading all the posts again, your position is: that we Americans should not have any control over who, or how many undocumented persons cross our borders, (otherwise we're racist Nazis), our political and business systems should be changed to accommodate these persons, any non-violent criminal ones now in jail (dope dealers?frauds?)should be allowed to stay and be given free job training, and then all of them should be given our best, highest paying union jobs. Am I right?

Ok now for some first hand stuff: I know an owner of a concrete company that had a laborer that claimed he was a citizen and exempt from paying income taxes on his W4, which anyone can do unchallenged by their employer. It turned out the guy had a fake social security card and was an illegal. The IRS came looking for him one day, and he simply slipped back over the border. He also trashed his apartment and skipped out on the last months rent, and all utility bills. This costs all of us.

You're changing the subject again, first it was the U. S. being run by Nazi's/ Klan, now we've moved on to U. S. corporate greed and capitalism? If pitting worker against worker for lowest wages is bad, don't you see that the flood of illegals just makes it that much easier for those greedy corporations to do just that? Companies employing union workers simply can't compete against companies that employ illegals. Where should hiring be done, at the union hall or the Home Depot parking lot?
