My HMMVW got hit at the first site you went by, right between the water tower and the Saddam Mosque in sept 05. That was a busy place.

they are sling adapters..they are used for lifting the truck off the ground via helicopter or hoist

And thats why, in 2005, you didn't travel on Rte Michigan, especially during daylight hours. At least we didn't. We paralelled it to the south.

we used all routes...michigan for bigger convoys and for use with convoys with vehicles with little knowledge of the town so if shit went bad they knew where to go..but we traveled michigan daily
